LYNNE COOKE. 3 SHOWS aims to unravel the curatorial practice of Lynne Cooke and presents documentation of three shows curated by Cooke between 1993 and 2007. Cleopatra's proudly presents the first U.S.-exhibition of original excerpts from Cooke’s archives, organized by curator Montserrat Albores. This selection debuted at Petra in Mexico City, a nonprofit curatorial project Albores founded.
Cooke's exhibitions referenced include: “On Kawara: One Thousand Days One Million Years” of 1993, “Stan Douglas and Douglas Gordon: Double Vision” of 1999 (Both created for Dia Center for the Arts of New York), and “Ellipsis: Chantal Akerman, Lili Dujourie, Francesca Woodman”, 2007 produced independently and presented first in Mexico at the Museo Rufino Tamayo and subsequently at Lunds Konsthalle in Sweden and Dundee Contemporary Arts in Scotland.
